Anna McMahon + Nina Dodd

Anna + Nina spent time working on an ongoing "Queer Gardens" project. The project aims to extend upon queer-centred practice which explores sexual polarities, Queer Failure and interpersonal relationships using flowers and plant matter coupled with everyday materials and objects. Anna started her exploration of gardens as sites for Queer culture in the setting of the ‘French formal garden’ recently. She is bringing this research back to her local community of Marrickville to further investigate the site of the garden in a local context. Working in collaboration with local Queer artist Nina Dodd the pair share experiences of parks and gardens in the local area. Anna is an active member of the Sydney contemporary art community and a Marrickville local. She is a studio resident at Parramatta Artists Studios, Parramatta and is a practicing artist and curator.
