New page

During my residency I'm planning to realise a proposition I made last year for a memorial to some long forgotten women who were imprisoned in a female labour camp in East Germany, where I undertook my last residency. They were civilian forced labourers from Eastern Europe, and were not memorialised at the time because nobody cared enough or had the means to do so. They worked in a factory making hemp and flax, so I will make the memorial out of these fibres. I am also keen to look into the history of forced labour and resistance movements in Sydney/greater New South Wales whilst there.
