Chris Brown is embarking on a film photography project during his residency, aiming to shoot 15 large format frames and 2 rolls of 35mm film each day, capturing anything and everything that inspires him. Building on his recent 'What/How/Why Project,' where he photographed emerging and diverse artists in their studios, on location, and in their creative sanctuaries, Chris intends to continue this exploration with the creative community of Sydney. His residency at Front Yard Projects will be an opportunity to expand his network, connect, and collaborate with artists and creatives beyond his hometown of Newcastle. Chris plans to focus on portraiture, fashion editorial, urban landscape, alternative and experimental silver gelatin photographic techniques. He views this residency as a chance to develop new directions in his practice, dedicate time to honing his craft, and indulge his creative impulses. Ultimately, Chris aims to create a diverse body of work that showcases his unique artistic perspective, conceptual logic, and visual language.
